Loran-C shut down Febuary 8th, 2010



Shutdown happen as schedualed. So what do you do NOW? If you did your calibrations all along and saved them you should be ok. Be sure to use the BACKUP menu to save the calibrations to a memory stick or thumb drive.

If you were constantly recalibrating the same areas then you were not doing it right and you will need to do something in order to continue using your hangs that are in TD's... in this case we may have a solution, see below.
New Version 7.22/723 : P-Sea Software is currently working on adding a top quality ASF correction table. The supplier of the ASF calibrations claims that it should have close to the same accuracy as the well calibrated TD's did. This will be a $50 upgrade to those that have WindPlot II or WindPlot Max. Any users that have version 6.77 or older will need to upgrade to WindPlot II or WindPlot MAX for $100.

When this 7.22 update is installed you should see a "USE ASF" check box on the TD calibration box and in the TD to LL converter located in the OPTIONS menu. Just check this and it will ask for an activation code. Purchase the code and enter it here. Then, you will be using ASF when the box is checked and using your old calibrations when it is not checked. Compare them now before Loran-C is shut down.. We believe the ASF corrections to be almost as close as the calibrated values for working offshore (NOTE: Errors will incease in ASF corrections as you get close to land.)
